About Me

Michael J. Williams covers Lake Elsinore and Wildomar as well as courts and spot news for The U-T Californian. His first job as a writer was producing advertising copy for an aviation mail-order supply business. His career in journalism spans 35 years, starting as a college arts writer and editor, and sports reporter. As a news reporter, he has covered most North San Diego County cities and spent eight years assigned to the San Diego County government beat. He worked as an assistant editor for The Californian for five years before returning to writing in December 2008. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati and attended San Diego State's teachers program. He has lived in the San Diego area since 1979 and now resides in Oceanside.
