About the Album

Brazilian jazz singer Ithamara Koorax celebrates the 50th anniversary of the song "Feel Like Making Love," a big hit recorded by Roberta Flack in 1974. Written by Eugene McDaniels, the song was originally released on June 10, 1974 and reached No. 1 in the Billboard Pop and Soul Music charts. Later on, it was also sucessfully covered by Bob James (when the song crossed over to the Jazz charts), Hubert Laws, George Benson and Isaac Hayes. Koorax's soulful & jazzy rendition of "Feel Like Making Love" was produced and arranged by Arnaldo DeSouteiro, who also plays percussion on the track, adding a Brazilian spice to this pop classic. It’s being released on June 1st, 2024 by the Los Angeles-based label Jazz Station Records (JSR), distributed worldwide by Tratore/The Orchard Enterprises. Internationally acclaimed, Ithamara Koorax has worked and recorded with the greatest Brazilian music stars -- Antonio Carlos Jobim, Luiz Bonfa, Joao Donato, Marcos Valle, Hermeto Pascoal, Eumir Deodato, Edu Lobo, Guinga, Dom Um Romao, Mario Castro-Neves, and Azymuth -- as well as with legendary jazz masters like Ron Carter, John McLaughlin, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Larry Coryell, Sadao Watanabe, Dave Brubeck, Claus Ogerman, Jay Berliner, Eddie Gomez and many others.
