This episode features some of my favourite recordings released in 2019, chosen from a year of some pretty damn fine music. It always seems that I tend toward bassist-led sessions, and that's the case again, with great recordings from Carlos Bica, Torbjorn Zetterberg and the Miles Perkins Quartet for starters. As well, more women artists appear on my list each year, including Kris Davis' popular Diatom Ribbons . New releases sampled this week come from Gordon Grdina's Nomad Trio, Poland's Wojtek Mazolewski and and the English trio, Somersaults.

Enjoy!
